I have an interview

I applied to a restaurant called Russ', less than a week after I got here. I got a call just this morning, asking me to come in for an interview Monday at 4pm!

There's also an ice cream shop that i may be getting a job at.

I'm 18 as of 3 days ago.

I guess things are starting to work out. :)

I'm ready..

..for school.
Today I went to Alex's school orientation. She's going to a private art and design college called Kendall. I pretended that I was a student, so I could go for moral support. There's art everywhere..it's like an art gallery that's also a school. The teachers are so nice, and I'm so jealous that she's going there. I would love to be surrounded by those walls. But I'll hopefully be starting my own school soon. My transcripts and ACT scores got sent in to GRCC the other day, so now all I have to do is wait for the letter in the mail telling me whether I got in or not.

Tomorrow I have to get up early to figure out how the bus works. I wake up early, roll out of bed with my footless footie jammies, pull on my converse, and go. No showers, no teeth brushing, no nothing. It will be an adventure.

Dinner was amazing tonight. Alex made pork chops, and I made mashed potatoes, and the three of us (our roommate joined) sat down and ate. We probably should have had some sort of green thing in there, but I have my spirulina vitamins, so I don't feel too bad about it.

I watched The Da Vinci Code today.

The Countdown

21 days until I'm an adult. It needs to come sooner. When I turn 18, so much can happen. I can get a bank account opened here, I can get a Michigan license, I can potentially find a job more easily, I can sign my own papers..phew.

Yesterday I went job hunting. I only came out with a bunch of "We're always accepting resumes/applications", and one actual application to a place that's hiring now. The thing about that job though, is that I may have to be 18 to work there because they serve alcohol. I haven't heard anything from the CVS across the street, or Russ' (the restaurant I applied to that our roommate works at). Sigh. I hate hate hate not having a job. Groceries eat up money so fast without some sort of income. It's terrifying.

I may get a library card today. I miss being able to go to the library, and pick out any book that I want. This library is HUGE. They also have a selection of DVDs and CDs.

Oh Michigan

I live in Michigan. Who would have thought that I would have ended up here? In some house, living with one of my best friends, looking for a job (I've applied to two, almost three jobs.), and having just applied to this random (but seemingly good) community college..certainly not me..

I'm all moved in. I have a bed to sleep on. I'm working on getting settled. I haven't made cookies yet..I guess that means that I still have work to do on getting comfortable.

I miss my mom. I miss Bubby. I miss sleeping with Callie, and kicking her off the bed when she takes up more than half the room, or start snoring too loud. I miss my dad, and walking down the stairs to yummy smells of amazing food cooking in the kitchen. I even miss the twins and Grace. I guess it's easier to like them when I'm about 1,000 miles away from the fighting.

But I'm having a good time. We went to the zoo today, and the past few days we've been getting lost, exploring the area. I found out that it takes 5 minutes to drive to the college I'm going to, and I didn't have to use the gps for a trip today for the first time since I got here! I felt pretty amazing about that.

I'm happy, but stressed about some things. Money goes away fast. Especially without any income. I need to pay for food, gas, and rent. I have my first month's rent already tucked away, but if I don't start getting paid soon, I'm going to be in trouble. Today, Alex asked me what I would do if I got 47,000 dollars..that was a nice thought for a minute..sigh.

Anyways..
